Directions to the Lodge

Arrival in Panama

Directions to the lodge and other important information once you arrive.  Most of our guests arrive at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City (Airport Code PTY). American, Delta, United and Copa Airlines have non-stop flights or connections from several major US cities. Copa Airlines also operates a non-stop flight from Toronto, Canada. Upon arrival in Panama, you will need to clear Immigrations, collect your baggage, and then go through customs. It is important to note that Panama requires your passport to have at least 6 months remaining prior to expiration in order to legally enter the country.

Getting to Boca Chica

Our operation is located in the small fishing village of Boca Chica, Panama, which is located near the city of David in the Providence of Chiriquí. There are several transportation options available to get from Panama City to David.

BY AIR

Currently, Copa Airlines ( www.copaair.com ) flies out of many major U.S. Airports with daily flights including Orlando, (MCO); Ft. Lauderdale, (FLL); Miami, (MIA); Tampa, (TPA); Los Angeles, (LAX); San Francisco, (SFO); Las Vegas, (LAS); Boston, (BOS); New York, (JFK); Newark, (EWR); New Orleans, (MSY); Washington D.C, (IAD); as well as Montreal, (YUL); and Toronto (YYZ); out of Canada non-stop to Panama.

Should you arrive a day or two earlier to Panama and wish to fly out of Albrook Regional Airport to David let us know and we can arrange this for you.  The flight only takes 35 minutes from Albrook to David Regional Airport on domestic carrier Air Panama which operates 3 flights per day to David from the Marcos Gelabert Airport, commonly referred to as Albrook Airport. The airline only operates during daylight hours with the last flight departing Albrook at 4:15 PM, but check their website to ensure you have the latest schedule ( www.AirPanama.com ). Also note that Air Panama limits carry-on and checked baggage to 5 and 30 pounds respectively, so travel light. Upon arrival in David, we can provide you with ground transportation to the lodge at no charge.

BY BUS

Panama’s public transportation is reliable and inexpensive. Comfortable buses leave the “Terminal de Buses” (Bus Terminal) in Albrook to David every hour from around 5:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight. There are several companies operating, each with their own schedule of departure about 15 minutes apart. If you are interested in saving money and leaving the driving to a professional, the bus is a fun way to go. From the International Airport, take a taxi to Albrook Bus Terminal. Once you purchase your ticket and are on the bus, give us a call with the bus number and arrival time so that we can meet you at the David Bus Terminal. We will meet you and transport you to Boca Chica at no charge.

Bus Transportation

Private Transportation

We can arrange for a private van to transport you and your luggage from the Panama Tocumen International Airport directly to the lodge of your choice. After you clear Customs, you will be met by a Come Fish Panama Representative who will safely drive you to Boca Chica while you sit back and enjoy the scenery. Along the way, you are welcomed to the cooler containing bottled water, fruit juices, soft drinks, and snacks. We will stop along the way for reakfast, lunch or dinner.

BY CAR

If you feel adventurous, you can rent a car at the International Airport and drive yourself to Boca Chica via the Pan American Highway. The scenic drive will take approximately 5 hours, including 1 or 2 stops for food and/or bathroom breaks. Unless you are familiar with the area, it is not recommended that you make the trip after dark as roads are often poorly marked. Let us know ahead of time if you plan to drive yourself so that we can provide you detailed instructions on getting to the sport fishing resort

NOTE:

Please let us know if you will be using our ground transportation when making your reservations. We will need to know your flight number, airline, and time of arrival if you would like us to meet you at either the International or David Airports for transportation to one of the lodges. The same applies if you decide to take the bus, late plane or bus arrivals, missed plane connections, etc. may require you to overnight in Panama City or David City so we must be notified as soon as possible. If no notice is received prior to our departure to pick you up, there will be a flat fee of $60.00 charged.
