Marlin Fishing and more in Panama
Billfish Extravaganza off the coast of Chiriqui, Panama was what Come Fish Panama encountered during the month of March 2016. Offshore sport fishing was absolutely phenomenal with
Big Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Pacific Sailfish, and good size Yellowfin Tuna all feeding in the same area throughout the month. Arriving to provide the rod bending action we welcomed from Pennsylvania the B. Dewitt group, J. McCabe from Florida, C. Mitchell couple from Texas, R. Berry from Arizona, J. Stagg from Texas, J. King’s from Nebraska, K. Perez from Spain, C. Poe from Texas, J. Ballester from Spain, M. Tomlinson from Alaska, S. Wilcox from New York, N. Logan from Florida, C. Gasinski from Florida, C. Wolff from Georgia.
Wind, Clear Skies
As the first week of March rolls around so did the strong winds out of the South Southeast. Heading offshore during the morning we encountered 3 to 4-foot swells as the sun peaks over the horizon. Water clarity continues to be clear with nice blue skies throughout the day. Midwater current provided great action on a jig for those anglers that enjoyed dropping lead. As you will notice with the photos provided below nice big fat Cubera Snappers were part of the action with this fishing method.
Billfish Extravaganza
It was a monster Billfish Extravaganza month for all anglers looking to hook up with either Marlin or Pacific Sailfish. The 2016 season continues to be strong as these pelagic’s remain in our waters along with a strong showing of Yellowfin Tuna. Both species came in bigger and stronger this month for anglers to tackle.
Never-the-less each angler that tangled with them manages to check this off their bucket list. Among other showings, anglers also were provided bone-crushing Cubera Snapper action which can put a nice bend on the rod. During the month anglers also caught plenty of Dorado, Mullet Snappers, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Bluefin Trevally, and many other species are waters have to offer. But the month was definitely dominated by billfish and Yellowfin Tuna.
