April Anglers

Sport Fishing during the month of April, Come Fish Panama welcomed the Wyles group from Florida, Kowalski group from Canada, the Lawhead group from Florida the father/son’s Peckhman group from Canada, the Petzold Family group from Germany, Robert Brenner from California, the Jensen group from Nevada, father/son Conner group from Colorodo, Leon & Linda Tomczyk from Florida, and Rick & Bonnie from Florida to finish off the month. We sincerely thank each and every angler for trusting Come Fish Panama with their fishing adventure. Most importantly, we appreciate seeing old friends and making new ones.

Conditions

With the rainy season just ahead of us we encountered a few showers every now and then to cool things off but this did not stop the fishing action these anglers came to enjoy. The water remained blue offshore

with some trash lines from the previous day or nights rain which washed out the debris from the coastal rivers. This provided some Dorado and Wahoo fishing which we took advantage of.

April Species

As the Yellowfin Tuna made it’s way into the Gulf of Chiriqui to feed for the next few months most of the groups that were targeting these species had an oppurtunity to catch the fish of a lifetime. On some days the Yellowfin Tuna did not want what we had to offer after throwing all sorts of plugs, poppers, livebait, deadbait, jigs, and even an unusual troll for them. Other days we would be able to land Yellowfin in from the 50 pound class up to the 240 pound class. As the weeks in May come along we will continue to target these species as anglers booked during May will be looking to catch their trophy fish.

Some of our April anglers landed more Yellowfin Tunas than others but others landed bigger than more… With that said we were happy to be able to have angles bend many other rods on African Pompano, Mullet Snapper, Dorado/Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Cubera Snapper, Mexican Barred Snapper, Black Marlin, Pacific Sailfish, Pacific Needlefish, Bluefin Trevally, Jack Crevalle, Yellow Snapper, Roosterfish, Horse, Eye-Jack and even a rare Pacific Stingray looking for a meal, along with other species..

Something of short- during our bottom fishing sessions we noticed quit a bit of our hook ups were half eaten by sharks looking for an easy meal. Most snappers that came up were between 25-30 pounds.

Our Thanks

As always we would like to thank all our new and returing anglers that came to sport fish with us during the month of April. We understand their are other providers and we truely thank you for choosing to fish with Come Fish Panama. We look forward to hopefully having you back next year or in the near future.
