The first two weeks of February were very busy for Come Fish Panama with 13 anglers coming from North America to fish with us. We enjoyed having Kris K., Keith N., Kevin R., Tommy S, Tony K., Nancy K., Jack C., Ami B., Orna L., Sean C., Kevin M., Jeff B. and Theodore M. on board the “Sweet Leilani” and “The Zonian”.

Panama Weather

The water temperature was in the mid to upper eighties with small swells from the south-southwest holding throughout the day. We experienced light winds during the morning ride out which quickly slacked off once offshore. Water clarity continues to be excellent. All in all, we can’t complain much about the weather.

Isla Montuosa Billfish Action

red-hot Marlin and Pacific Sailfish bite. Most of the action continues to be at Isla Montuosa, but every once in a while we make a pass at “La Lengua” (The Tongue) where the billfish have been tearing up the bait pods on the surface. The usual bottom fishing at our favorite spots at Isla Montuosa and Isla Ladrones as well as others produced some quality- sized fish such as Amberjack, Cubera Snapper, Mullet Snapper and a few other species. Rounding out our catch are the occasional Dorado.

Giant Yellows

The Yellowfin Tuna did not provide much action for these anglers. We either didn’t see the large schools of Tuna or they just haven’t arrived in our waters yet. Typically we see them towards the

end of February or the beginning of March. We look forward to our anglers hooking up to one of these powerful giants.
